Honda CB550 hardtail chopper/bobber
This is a 1975 Honda CB550 that has been chopped and made into a hardtail chopper/bobber.
The frame has been brazed to a good standard and is bare metal. Tank is a Harley Davidson peanut tank with custom graphics. Rear mudguard is steel and has light surface rust but I think that was the idea of the previous owner.
Rear wheel has had aluminium discs added on both sides which looks good and very speedway! Seat is aluminium base with wetsuit fabric top.
We bought this bike not working as the loom was in a bag. We have since created a temporary minimal loom to start the bike (using a cool starter switch setup) and have added some clip on handlebars, new throttle, grips and throttle cable. It starts fine and ticks over nicely.
There are a few things that need to be done including connecting up the front brake hoses (supplied) wiring for lights, indicators etc, installing chain (supplied) and a general going over. In our view it's a weekends work to get back on the road.
Some parts are loosely assembled for photos.
The bike has a V5 and is Mot and road tax exempt so with cheap classic bike insurance will be an inexpensive bike.
You will struggle to find another UK registered tax/mot exempt CB550 at this price.
Collection from North Devon or I can arrange a courier for you, cost to be advised.
